2006 Monte SS won't start?

I have a 2006 Monte SS. 5.3L. I went to start it and it will crank VERY slowly and then lose all cranking power. Then the service engine light comes on. I've also got the message to service my anti theft system. Do I need a new battery or is this a deeper electrical issue?
