How do I turn off my change engine oil light in an '01 Monte Carlo SS with an after market stereo?

I know you can turn off the "change engine oil" light using the stock stereo that came in the car, but now that I have a new stereo in my car I have to figure out how to turn off the warning lights. Would maybe disconnecting the battery for a while help or pumping the gas pedal while the car is in "on" help?
