Installing a USB port for ipod in a car?

Is it possible to use an ipod with the sound system in my 03 monte carlo ss even though to cd receiver does not have a usb port? Is there a way to put one in without having to get a whole new head unit? I really like how simple and clean looking the one i have now is.
