Would a 1987 Monte Carlo SS be expenisive to insure?

Hi, I'm 16, I'll be getting a job, and saving up most of my money for a car. I really want an 86 or 87 monte carlo ss. But my mom said it would be too expensive to insure. Especially me being about 17 when I would get it. But I would be on my mom's insurance, and so would the car. Thanks.
